The Acorns Equine Clinic is committed to protecting /respecting your privacy and personal data.  On the 25th of May 2018 the new privacy regulations (GDPR) came into effect.

 

 Where we store your personal data.

 

The data that we collect from you will be stored on the computers at The Acorns Equine Clinic.  We will only share your data with third parties with your permission (eg. when referring your horse for a second opinion /with insurance companies etc) OR if legally obliged to do so. 

 

We will continue to send you routine reminders (eg. vaccinations, dentals, MOT's, follow up blood tests etc) because they affect your horse's health and welfare.  If you wish, you can ask us to stop these reminders at any time.  We will not send you any literature by email or text to inform you of our latest offers and promotions unless you specifically agree to it.

 

 

How long we will keep your personal data.

 

We will keep your personal data as set out below, or as necessary for conducting the business of providing veterinary services to you and completing any contract that we have with you.

  • In accordance with the requirements and recommendations of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
  • In accordance with the requirements and recommendations of the Veterinary Defence Society (VDS).
  • In accordance with the requirements and recommendations of HM Revenue and Customs.

 

Your rights.

 

You have the right to be provided with clear, transparent and easily readable information about how we use your personal data and your rights.

 

You have the right to obtain access to your personal data (if we're processing it) and to certain other information free of charge EXCEPT where your requests are manifestly unfounded or excessive, (particularly if it is repetitive), in which case we may charge you a reasonable fee or refuse to respond.  If we refuse to respond we will write to you explaining why.

 

You have the right to have your personal data rectified if it is inaccurate or incomplete.  If we refuse to rectify your personal data we will write to you explaining why.
